Don't ask me to explain

My friends all say that you are not
The one I should pursue
Yet everything I do and say
Is all because of you

I count each blessing as it comes
Each day that I can get
But I know inside that I am missing
An opportunity I would never regret

Just because you say I'm smart
It doesn't mean you're honest
And even though I smile at you
It doesn't mean I'm jealous

But what all of this really means
Is something I should tell
In a poem, a song, or even a letter
Or on a mountain I will yell

I LIKE YOU! so tell me, are those three words
Under- or Over-stated?
Don't ask me to explain because
