Many Masks

by Jaimi   Oct 12, 2006

My friends do not see
Behind this mask I wear
They don't really know
They don't really care
If these "friends" really knew me
They'd know how much I hurt
Behind the smiles and the laughter
It's slowly getting worse
They ask me for advice
For the "problems" in their life
It slowly drives me crazy
No, I'm not alright
I can tell them any lie
They believe me then and there
Acting? I'm a natural
Life is so unfair
But I'll go ahead and play
My part in this life
The happy go-lucky girl
With whom every thing's alright
Tears I will not shed
Sadness I will not show
I'll continue with this part
Nobody's ever know

It seems a lot of people on this site write poems about hiding who they are. Is it just the poets who are like that? Or is everyone and they just don't share it? Anyhoo..nice job! Jpoet*
