Weekend Cinderella

by *Charisma*   Oct 12, 2006

Wake up to the alarm again
Want to throw it at the wall
Sick and tired of getting up
And giving each day my all

Wish I could hit the snooze
But I've done it twice already
I drag myself out of bed
And take it slow and steady

I'm always getting caught up
In the stress of each day
I need a break away from it
And a far off place to stay

I'm living for the weekend
Those sweet days all for me
Every minute soaked up
In bliss to the highest degree

Pretending work's just fiction
I live in my fairytale
I'm never going there again
I'd rather be in jail

I'm not checking the mailbox
The answering machine's turned on
Everyone can disappear
Until monday rolls along

The t.v., couch, and fridge
Are the best of friends
I visit them more than ever
On every single weekend

So until the clock strikes twelve
On Sunday's final hour
I'm known as Cinderella
And I hold all the power
