Our Story....

For a short time we were together
we loved so hard and strong
I never felt so happy~
with you, there could be no wrong.

I shared with you my secrets
we talked about getting married
I could never love a man so much~
it was you, in my heart I carried.

I could not contain a smile
anytime you came around
we spent all of our time together~
with each other, we could be found.

And then our story was over
your love for me just stopped
you wanted out of our "forever"~
and then my heart just dropped.

You gave me the old cliche
"it's not you, I swear it's me"
What happened to our story
It's just over? How can that be?

One day you said you love me
and the next it came to an end?
One day I am your girlfriend~
and the next I'm just a friend?

My emotions are so overwhelming
because I still love you so
although I still care about you~
I know I have to let you go.

I've never felt such heartache
I guess I'm still in denial
because we loved so strongly~
and I thought we would for awhile.

But I'm glad you're still in my life
even if it's just as a friend
and now "our story" is over~
