I love you

She sits there waiting,
at the table alone,
where is he now,
where has he gone.

the table set out,
ready to eat,
he doesn't turn up,
to sit in that seat.

she waits for an hour,
and wonders whats wrong,
has something happened,
then on came their song.

He was supposed to be there,
to dance with her too,
but all alone she danced,
how could you?

tears streamed down her face,
as she heard the song end,
she sat in her seat,
and stared at that empty space.

but then she looked up,
and stood at the door,
was a tall handsome man,
who then fell to the floor.

she ran to his side,
and found a note,
it was all screwed up,
as she read it she cried.

inside the note,
she found written in blue,
was a simple sentence,
saying "i love you"
