Nvr Thought You Could Say These Words, Is This Really Happening?

by myshiningstar14   Oct 12, 2006

A few sleepless nights,
this isn't how I thought
it would be.
I always imagined myself
anywhere but here,
but here we stand you
and me.

Cradled in my past,
in the sunken tears
of my time,
beyond this rhyme
lies something deeper.

I was controlled by the
things that haunted me,
in its drunkenness I was
draped in the cloak of
resentment,
but oh how you've freed
me.

I never thought that you
could say these words,
is this really happening?

I never thought that you
could say these words,
is this really happening?

Softly spoken to m,
you said:" I don't care
if you have a man baby,
I love you and no one
will love you quite like I
can."

At that I knew I had to
have you.
I ripped off the stitches
that bound me to the
life I could no longer
bear, and wrapped you
in my wings.

I never thought that you
could say these words,
is this really happening?

I never thought that you
could say these words.
is this really happening?

Those words hovered,
like a nurtering mother.
Now here we stand,
you and me, loving like
no other.

Those words will stick
to me for eternity,
as will my love for you.
So here I say to you
forever and always:
"I love you."
