You Silly Old Man

by JacKnife Jessica   Oct 12, 2006

I'm talking to you
You silly old man
With your slippers and walker
And your wrinkled old hands

You silly old man
Crossing the street
Ruining your slippers
Dragging your feet

I caught you before you fell
You silly old man
Thank God for me
You could of hurt yourself bad

You silly old man
In this nursing home
You're getting help now
So its time for me to go

You silly old man
You ask if I could stay
Even though I don't want to
Only for today

I choose to ignore
How quickly things change
You silly old man
Only time is to blame

You silly old man
Who's living rejection
In a world full of hate
Not a world of perfection

You silly old man
Who's slowly growing old
You are so impatient
As if I am told

You silly old man
When you cough you turn red
You are so forgetful, don't ask for food
You were already fed

You silly old man
That cigarette will burn
Don't leave it on paper
Don't you ever, ever learn

You silly old man
You forgot about your will
You said you would rather die
So here, take this pill

You silly old man
You're fading away
I will see you again
One day not today
