Our Sacred Place

by GraCiE   Oct 13, 2006

The lake laps at it edges,
As we bathe beneathe the sun,
The leaves rustle in the breeze,
Our true love has just begun.

The tree's mangled bark,
Is our chair our sacred throne,
The woven grass is beneath our feet,
we are together not alone.

The fireflies begin to dance,
As the sun sets in the lake,
The calling birds they go to roost,
But we are still awake.

And as the deer come out to play,
I look at your tender face,
Our love it is so natural in our corner of this earth,
Our sacred place.
