Hero in the Moon

by Macabre   Oct 13, 2006

Night falls through satin curtains,
and a blanket of stars stroke the sky,
the moon lifts your eye to it\\\'s bold face,
you can\\\'t help, but get lost in it\\\'s gaze.
Lost in the purity,
the essence of undying,
eternal beauty, he will never be forgot,
you say a prayer for your hero,
he\\\'s with you tonight, you\\\'ve found what you sought.

Remember him, and cherish him,
in your memories, all you have,
you can\\\'t hold his face, but you can kneel at his grave,
and cry all you want for his sake.

-dedicated to Tony Spivey, and those who have died in combat-
