Ive Woken To Find Myself In The Shadows Of My Past

I was in the discussion area and i stumbled upon a topic that was a use this line contest so i checked it out and saw a line i liked and tried to use it...of course as u probably already know the line was

Ive woken to find myself in the shadows of my past

So i pondered it for a few minutes and came up with this

I remember a time,
Ten years before the present,
A day when I was immoral,
A side of me I resent,

I was a slave,
To my own deceitful lies,
Its something that wont leave,
A side of my I despise,

I am now clean,
I cut no longer,
Ive stopped the urge,
And I have become stronger,

As I fall asleep,
I have a vision,
In this dream I cut,
And make a deep incision,

I realize I already woke,
This breath could be my last,
Ive woken to find myself,
In the shadows of my past,

I was a slave,
To my own deceitful lies,
Its something that wont leave,
A side of me which has become my demise
