You'd never know

by gabriel   Oct 14, 2006

"Reach out for me
And touch my hand
I don't know if you will
Ever understand

Look me into the eye
Look deeper within
Can you clearly see
My one true deepest sin?"

I stand upon the rocks
And face the open waves
The sky's turning dark
The colour of ancient graves

My mind seems so blue
Yet I hope it's not true
A part of me says that
I'm so lost without you

I spread my arms
Upon the pounding rain
A fallen angel with broken wings
Relishing in sadness and pain

Tentacles of lightning flashes
Throughout the stormy sky
The sound of seismic clashes
Like war gongs coming by

I fall upon my knees
My cloak soaked through and through
The undying void that never cease
And yet you'll never have a clue

From exhaustion and cold I fall
Into a very slow sleep
Lying upon this endless despair
My eyes continue to weep

Finally my eyes close
To the sound of rain and thunder
Even sleep is clearly troubled
Even sleep is a cursed blunder

Drifting in and out
Of nightmares and dreams
I continue to float down
This one way stream

Eventually I blend
Into the unbroken sand
With the aftermath of the flood
I become one with the mud

And so I'm gone
Like a dried-up pond
Yet you'd never a clue
That it was all about you
