A GHOSTS WHISPER

by Rocky   Oct 15, 2006

So there i was
but what could i say
hollow words
so meaningless
they could never explain
but somewhere she knows
i too feel her pain
each tear she cries
alike to mine
our souls the same
so i could not stand
to hear her weep
i could not stand
to know this pain
within her heart so deep
a wound that left no mark
upon her skin
but within her eyes
upon her voice
was so plain to see
so i cursed the god
that had let this be
to this angel
who twice
had saved my soul
from the cold graves of sleep
the living death
the undead reap
and here now was this angel
wounded
and bleeding
though she tried
so very hard
to be so very brave
but behind her masks
such a terrible facade
this angel i knew
was in such awful pain
her wings shredded
her soul torn
as her tears blood
did from her heart seep
upon the living grave
of one so dead
he'd only trampled her love
beneath his feet
so lifeless
that never could he a tear
for her weep
7000 miles away
and still i could see this
as clear as day
but I'm so distant
i might as well
be watching
from the moon
a memory
a ghost
whispering longing dreams
upon the wind
my prayer to my angel
from my spirit
departed
yet within her voice
i still hear
the joy
it somehow brings

This was a good poem but I think you drug it out way too long. I liked the flow the message, but I think if you made some exsamples of why you felt you shouldn't die some contempt to God or even worry about your lost love this would be a profoundly powerful poem just a thought Plot121
