When the man you loved breaks your heart,
You sit and wonder where to start,
For years he has controlled your life,
Just because you were his wife.

He always chose what you had to do,
You wished sometimes you could decide too,
Making you feel so afraid.
Not taking any notice of what you said.

He is no longer in your life,
And your days are no longer full of strife,
Thinking for yourself really is quite good,
Choosing everything as you should.

So please take heed of me,
