Never Forgiving, Never Forgetting

by alone in the crowd   Oct 15, 2006

Shadows carress what was once good
Nothing white, nothing pure
peace torn into tiny fragments
never forgiving, never forgetting
angels' wings fall apart
feather by feather littering the ground
halos soiled, tilted, tarnished
never forgiving, never forgetting
what hope is left among us
what wind of purity blows?
reminding us of unclean deeds
never forgiving, never forgetting
no old soul can be reborn
what we are is who we are
memories molesting who is left
never forgiving, never forgetting
