This is What Depression Does

Hmmm, not sure where this one came from. not one of my personal favorites, but hey, it's a poem,and I haven't been writing lately...so yeah. comments ;)

Thoughts of death are filling my head
ideas of dying and making myself dead
these kinds of thoughts aren't too bad
especially after losing what I once had

I find my comfort in the blade of a knife
this way I remove depression from my life
I replace the emotional with real pain
and in my mind, this is a real gain

Scars are nothing compared to the sadness
blood is nothing compared to the madness
my arms are a tic-tac-toe board of my pain
others just laugh, and think this is a game

But it isn't, it's my way of dealing with it
I'm cutting myself apart, bit by bloody bit
and if it makes me die, oh, well even better
every just thinks that I'm a drama-setter

B*sta*ds, I don't want your attention
if I could I'd go to an alternate dimension
I'm trying to make myself feel the best
by going through pain, I'll pass the test

But as I cut and slash myself apart
I bleed out all the blood to my heart
in my place is a mere shell of what I was
the truth is, this is what depression does

    Eh ithink you should try to break out of your comfort zone in rhyme schemes. try not doing a poem wiht a abab cbcd or aabb ccdd rhyme scheme.

    Overall i liked it. you diplayed alot of emotion and what you said is true.

    i also loved the tictactoe thing. i say that. when im with my friends we call it emo tic tac toe. (we're just jokin cause actually 99% of us are/have been cutters)

    You arent the only one. I can definately relate. The tic tac toe thing was an interesting point. It was very visual, which of coarse us a plus.

    You obviously understand depression but yet you're so open to say this is what depression does so are you actually greiving or playing off friends emotions?
