At Night

by Gerard Kurt   Oct 16, 2006

In silent, lonely nights,
The moon peeps from the clouds.
We all now lose our sight,
Of the mighty sun whose proud.

Now all is quiet and calm.
the Birds have ceased to sing.
Our dreams will now embalm
The mem'ries each day bring.

Away from the sun's fierce light,
This hour is most relaxing.
And under the gently moonlight,
All is soft and pleasing.

Oh night! serenity's mother,
Peace from the days unrest.
I now in you surrender,
And sleep in your cozy breast.
