We make choices each and every day
We listen closely to our thoughts to understand what they say
The little voices that let us know right from wrong
That tell us to either give up or continue living strong
Whether to tell the real truth or just a little lie
To smile and be happy or be depressed and want to cry
We choose whether to love others for who they really are
To be an average person or become famous and be a big star
Whether to wake up in the morning and get out of bed
To believe in Jesus Christ or the Devil and talk to the dead
We choose when to think, speak, drink, eat, sleep, and play
Whether to say I’m sorry, or hold a grudge the entire day
To let somebody know about how you really feel
To make the decision of living an imaginary world, or one that is real
We decide who we want to hang around
And whether to fly high in the sky, or keep our feet on the ground
What we want to do, and how we want to act
And who to run to when our life’s all out of wack
To listen to what our heart tells us
To agree with what others say, or to put up a fuss
To go far in life and be everything that we can be
Or to be a regular person just like you and me
Choices are very important, they affect us every day
