Winter

by darxtar   Oct 17, 2006

Over the hills and beyond the trees
A sleeping murderess lies
Around the sunset and past the seas
Under the darkened skies

Lying in wait, stalking the night
When months have gone long past
The time has come for her to flight
Her reign has come at last

A vicious cold smile touches her lips
Her breath turns mist to frost
And as the sunlight starts to slip
Night pays the dearest cost

Oceans ice over and flowers die
And a time once so full of peace
Is filled to the brim with mournful cries
Of creatures starting to freeze

With a wave of her hand the world is white
Covered in a blanket of woe
Winter has come to this darkened night
Brought on by the Lady of Snow.
