To kill a man, break his spirit
And crush his hopes and dreams
Hurt a man and push him down
To tear him at the seams
Play with his mind, toy with emotions
And then finally the heart
When a heart is ripped clean from the chest
A man will fall apart.
Hold it firm within your grasp
And never give it back
Say you love him but never do
And his mind will start to crack
Once the heart is black and withered
From pain and lack of trust
Throw it in his face and laugh
And tell him it was lust.
To kill a man is no great thing
It happens every day
To crush a spirit is the real treat
And watch him waste away.
