Gravity Defies

by Shadow Zone   Oct 17, 2006

Caught in a broken rhythm
Believing to be free
Not seeing the walls as they close in
I grew to fear the open skies
Hiding in the dark where all the evil lies.
Believing to be safe
I'm standing on the edge
With the danger in my face.
And as gravity defies, I dint see the fall
And I have to crawl on broken bones and shattered dreams.
Pushing even harder than I can humanly bear
I try to reach the top, but I'm already there
And all I have lost on the way I can never replace
So I fill my life with dreams to make it through the day.
No matter where I am, I'm always so close
Yet always so far...

This is such a deep poem.I am very impressed. Not necessarily a 'slang' poem, this is more a poem of life.I especially like the verses from line ten to the end. This just says so much in meaning and emotion.

    Peace, Poetry, & Power,
