Sapphires

by alone in the crowd   Oct 17, 2006

The pearls do shine in a smile, yet the sapphires, your sapphires won't shimmer. the rubies glow on you cheeks, yet the sapphires, your sapphires won't shimmer. the diamonds dance and sparkle on your skin, yet the sapphires, your sapphires won't shimmer. to everyone around you, you shine with the glow of your jewels, yet inside you allow the black opals to over power the sapphires, your sapphires of your eyes. the sapphires that won't shimmer. let the pearls fade, the rubies scratch and the diamonds turn dull. all i want is the sapphires, your sapphires to shimmer with happiness, truth and love. let the sapphires, your sapphires shimmer.

*written about a guy with the most amazing blue eyes but always seems to be sad*
