My Forgotten Angel

by Samantha Compton   Oct 17, 2006

You used to fascinate me,
hold me in my mind.
And every time I thought of you
A smile made me blind.
You were my knight in shining armor,
The angel of my world,
Your silver smile pierced the night
And lit up my dark soul.
It was much too good to be true,
That you really liked me,
But our friendship had obsessed me,
And I was too afraid to see.
Now you leave with other girls,
Playing every one,
You have them right where you want,
Why would you need my love?
And when soberness is gone,
You find you're the victim
Of intoxicating temptations,
And you dive right in.
You've betrayed me so deep
You cannot even tell.
Your flirting and smiles
Can mean nothing now.
It all seems so nice
Until one moment,
You'll realize they don't care,
And this life isn't what you meant.
By then I'll be long gone,
Over the pain.
For this relationship is over,
Things can never be the same.
I don't need your lies,
Your false care and kindness,
I can get along fine now that
I have discovered my blindness.
Though from cloudy days
Come dark, cold nights,
I welcome it here
Into my life,
So that in my dreams,
I can forget you,
Deny and betray you,
Leave your heart torn and bruised.
You can't trust anyone,
Because every time
You give your heart away,
You only find a lie...

    Nice job. Beautiful ending.

"Why would you need my love?
And when soberness is gone," The transition between these lines seem rough. Also you used a lot of repeating words such as "you"

    Keep it up
