Slave To My Emotions

by Flea   Oct 18, 2006

*this poem was not written by me it was written by a friend of mine who wanted his work read..i guess..

Emotions felt add to the torment behind the prison door
Iron, barred and frozen, locking in the chaos, locking out the warmth
This weakness may be hidden but it can be smelt by predators
The stench wrenching in my gut, in my chest
Scratching at the backs of my eyes
Begging to be let out

The beasts are stalking me
Ever aware
Ready for the limp
Circling me like sharks
I have been cut off from the herd
Cut off from escape

As they approach my head turns to instinct
Hide it
Don't let it out
It will destroy you
Don't do it
Do not do it
I did it

As the key to their success roles down my cheek
I can't evade the inevitable
My fate is sealed
They have their chance
They will take it
It's all over

I am a slave to my emotions
