Happiness and laughter? Or a happiness set free?
Look deep into my baby blues and see the story of my life
From when I was so carefree to when I gave up on life
Look at the pain you've caused and the hurt that you've created
See the embers in my soul? They're from the fire when you made it
Look at my shattered heart that somehow still continues to beat
Look at the damage so immense it makes it hurt to breathe
Look at the emptiness that used to case my smile
See my broken heart that bleeds; beating all the while
Look at the pain that's hidden, though not all of it is from you
See the bloody wrist…and all the pain I put myself through
Can you see that while I hurt you, I hurt myself more
And that while your heart is broken, mine is shattered to the floor
So look again into my eyes and see the story that goes deeper then words
