You said this gift couldn't be bought
With all your wit and your wisdom
You asked me for a thought

So, little brother of mine
Here's some thoughts from me to you
Thoughts, that in your hard time
Will always see you through

Above all, Steven, never give up
No matter what lies ahead
The road will always get easier
So long as you keep up your head

Don't ever give into temptation
And always keep your morals high
Don't settle for less then you deserve
But don't let life pass you by

Always do your best in all things
You'll be more proud when it's complete
Know that it's okay to fail
And always admit defeat

And while yes, it's okay to fall
Never stay down too long
Always learn from your mistakes
And learn what's right from wrong

Listen to your parents
Despite what you think, they're right
They just want what's best for you
In this thing that we call life

It's okay to ask for help
So you know you're never alone
Cherish your time as a kid
-It's the best you'll ever know

Be your top priority
But help others without a doubt
And if ever you get lost
God will always help you out

Be kind to others, Steven
And remember always to smile
Offer random hugs
-It'll make the day worthwhile

Learn form all your hardships
But never regret your mistakes
They make you who you are
-It's your future they create

Always tell your family, Little Man
How much you love them with all your heart
Cause there will come a time you regret
Not saying it more often, from the heart

Always know that I'm by your side
And I'll always have your hand
And even when you think it's impossible
I'll always understand

Steven, always stay ambitious
And continue to keep your dreams in sight
And in life's toughest battles
Never give up the fight

Keep your friends close to you
And make your enemies your friends
Learn to live and to laugh
And always make amends

Stay away from drugs, Brother
They'll just hurt you deep inside
That means no smoking either
Candles are the only thing you should light

In this life of ours, Little Man
All you can do is live and learn
