Always Friends Forever And Such

by Kaye   Oct 19, 2006

When I first met you
It was in our freshman bio class.
You looked like a pip squeak
All slouched over in your chair.
I thought nothing much of you,
"Just another class clown,"
That was until the day we changed seats
And you turned bio upside down.

You caused me so much trouble,
Hiding my things and not giving it back,
Always copying my work
And then calling me a cheater.
You did make me laugh
And on occasion, cheered me up.
I guess you really were a good friend
But I'll deny it if you bring it up again.

As the years went by,
I always had at least one class with you.
You always sat next to me and
We continued our same old routine.
I remember once our debate
About the color of your eyes.
You insisted that it was blue-green
But they were probably just lies.

And your hair! Oh your hair,
That lovely shade of blond.
You bleached it almost white!
What on earth were you thinking?
You practically glowed all on your own,
You should've seen how brightly it shone.

Now that we've managed to graduate
No more high school, no more you,
You won't be in my class anymore,
You're not even on the same coast!
We promised to keep in touch
But let's face it, how often will that be?
"Always friends forever" and such.
