Box Of Truths

by manic moments   Oct 20, 2006

A box of truths
Sitting on the window sill
A bottomless pit of lies
That sits there completely still

Box full of memories
Good and bad
Written about her day
Or what happened to her dad

The morning that she was hit
Across the back of the head
Or when she didn't know
If she was alive or dead

Yes, there are many memories in that box
Good, bad and in between
Hidden in the six sides
Never ever to be seen

She never came home one day
Never walked through the door
Her mother never noticed
That she wasn't smiling anymore

She didn't make a joke
She didn't do her chores
She was crawling through some pain
Leaning on all fours

She heard all they're swipes
She heard what they use to say
But no one ever knew
What happened to her that day

They don't know where she went
They don't know what happened
They didn't know that her clothes
Will slowly be dampened

They didn't find her swinging
They didn't find her crying
They never ever found her
While she was left dying

There are words said about her
Each and everyday
But none of those people
Really know what they say

She wasn't really happy
She had nothing to cry about
But something was hurting her
And made her doubt

Now there is nothing left
Of that box or that girl
She never knew what she had
To offer this simple world

That box still sits there
On the window sill
It sits there with memories
Sitting there very still
