An Impossible Dream .

Let me ask you this,
Ever love someone you shouldn't?
Tried so hard to forget them,
But you just couldn't?

You'd fall deeper and deeper,
With each passing day,
While still trying to hide it,
And ignoring what other people say.

"He's just another friend,
And nothing else."
That's the lie you tell everyone,
Including yourself.

You keep telling yourself,
He's not the one you're thinking of.
But you know you can't deny it;
You're falling in love.

Every time he smiles,
You can't help but do the same.
And every time he speaks,
You wish to hear your name.

Your heart races,
When you think of him at night.
But you keep reminding yourself,
That this isn't right.

And even when a simple glance,
Turns into a stare.
You still want to deny it,
And act like you don't care.

I don't know how long,
You can continue to pretend.
How long can you lie,
About him being just a friend?

You want to tell him,
And you want these feelings to show.
But how will he react?
You don't want to know.

And whenever he's with her,
You just want to scream.
But what to do when she's a sister?
You keep it an impossible dream.
