What is love?
and can it truly be defined?
Is it a feeling felt at heart,
or a feeling in the state of mind?
I've experienced it before
and know of others who have as well
But it seems as if no one truly knows
for when questioned, no one can tell
It's hard to put in words,
and may be different to the norm
at some point in life,
it was said or shown in some form
So again I ask, what is love?
It's like waking up in the morning,
the sun beaming upon the shades
Keeps you warm inside
as it continues to hinder & fade
It's like having breakfast in the morning,
to keep you strong for the rest of the way
Without it you'd feel restless
for it keeps you focused for the day
It's like shopping for the right pair of shoes,
how it fits and manages on your feet
and when the right one is found
Assured, its yours to keep
It's like keeping a popsicle froze
If removed out the fridge it will melt
Like love you don't want it broken
Unfortunately, a feeling most have felt
It's like poetry with rhythm
must get to the listener's heart
Like love if not reached,
it will set you apart
It's like black ink on black paper
It can't be seen thru the eyes
Without sense & communication,
It'll only remain in disguise
It's like manners at the dinner table,
etiquette for all to see
Like love, without respect it's impossible
to maintain the value of We
It's like watering plants,
blossoming flowers is the outcome
joined together to make it thru
Like love, two heart's make one
It's like needing oxygen to live,
and breathing to stay alive
And saying the words I Love You
helps the relationship survive
