Sounds of an Ocean Shore

by Gregory W Golden   Oct 21, 2006

The roar and thunder from
ocean waves crashing
back and forth against
black sandy shores
sounds like a symphony of
cymbals and kettledrums,
as the tide rolls in…

Seagulls bobbing up and
down upon crested
waves waiting to get
uplifted by a gusty wind…

Catching breath, they pause
to nibble on tasty schools
of fish dancing near the
surface edge…

Nocturnal sea creatures
yarn, stretch, and adorn
themselves with rocks and
seashells…

I am dreaming…

as the ocean kisses the sky I sit in complete comfort
Of the quiet and beauty in the midst…

I bask…

At the stroke of midnight,
the waves parade in a moonlit
dance ritual, making hypnotic
sounds off of the ocean’s shore

I am captivated, I am caught up…

The roar and thunder from the
Oceans waves crashing
Back and forth against
black sandy shores…

Sooths me.
