Lies

by Ashley   Oct 22, 2006

You once said you loved me,

But that was just a lie,

It was the first of many that you would tell through time.

We dated all through high school,

and as i learned more about you,

I found that you always had an excuse for something.

If the teacher asked you for your homework

you'd say, " My grandma died."

or "My computer's broke"

you'd make up lie after lie.

I asked you to hang out one saturday night,

You said you had plans with your family.

I'd been planning to take you to that big party,

unknowing you'd already be there.

I went on my own

and when i saw you there with my best friend,I

knew that our relationship just had to end.

I walked right up to you and slapped you cross the face.

You lied to me you bastard,

you said you had plans.

I'm sick of your recycled phrases,

and your excuse upon excuse,

I won't take this from you anymore,

we're done,

we're over,

We're through.

I stomped out of the party then,

and ran back to my car,

I drove in silence all the way home,

thinking

wondering.

Why haden't you come after me,

with one more excuse to tell,

You said you loved me baby,

but your heart rests only in hell.

I was so love struck,

so intimate,

that i never took notice to your flaws.

So here's to you my baby boy,

How i fell for you,

and how you were never there to catch me.
