Innocence

by Rain   Oct 22, 2006

Innocence is a thing tossed a side by the present.
A lost friend trying to find the way home.
Through dark and grungy alleys.
The light of innocence is hidden under the darkness of
doubt.
Torn away from my heart to make a scared, bitter, and
tired person.
It is where the shadow of sin haunts my every move in
wait to strike again.
With the light slowly dimming the fate of Hope is
slowly dying.
Love is Hope's only salvation.
But is it enough to heal the wounded heart;
Will it be enough to mend the broken spirit;
And will it be enough to bring back home the innocence
that was sadly lost to begin with.
To stop shedding tears of sorrow and replace them with
tears of joy is the goal I wish to meet.
To end the silence of pain and sorrow and to begin
with the joy of smiles and laughter.
