Steve Irwin

We know him as the man
who fought crocodiles for a living
who was compassionate and brave
and always very giving

his death was very tragic,
unexpected and full of sorrow
but he will not be forgotten
not today, not tomorrow

he is in a better place now
may he rest in peace
his soul is free to roam
with happiness and ease.

we will always remember
the words he used to say
crikey! was the main one
you would hear everyday

when i first heard
that he has passed away
my first instant reaction
was Oh my God! No way!

when i asked my friend what happened
she told me he was killed by a stingray
i was shocked and surprised
but mostly sad throughout the whole day.

we will remember Steve Irwin
and all that he has done
he leaves behind a wife,
a daughter and a son.
