Alone in the Winter Mist

by Emma Marroon   Oct 23, 2006

Alone In the winter mist

I was always told when I was a child
That the worst time to be stranded in the wild
Was in the raging cold
Young or old
No one on their own
But I've always been alone
I thought when I was getting close to you
That all of those hard times were through
I should have spent more time guessing again
Than waiting in the unforgiving rain
I thought I was right, when I was very wrong
I was never included; I was on my own all along
It was just the way it was meant to be
I don't know why, I find that so hard to see
The harshest thing about life and its dance
Is that once you fall
You never get a second chance
