Final Lesson

by Noir   Oct 23, 2006

Hands trembling
Knees giving out
Body rigid
Eyes unclosing
Mind clearing
Sweat trickling
Ears ringing

A haze obscures my view
I try to push it aside, but the haze remains
I try to push away the shadows before me
Strain my eyes
Though I cannot hope to see

I think perhaps I see
But it is only because I wish it

Is this what I must learn?
To survive the world that I have learnt since birth to take

My wound
Begins to throb
My essence leaking away
I have learnt my lesson today
But I guess it is too late to take the exam…

I happen to like this poem of yours.
and I'm wondering how long it took you to write it :-/

    I especially liked this:
    I think perhaps I see
But it is only because I wish it
