My Poison Soul, My Poison Ways

by most perfect lie   Oct 23, 2006

I see it, I can't stop this
My poison soul, my poison ways
Watch this broken girl fall
See me slowly wilt away into night
Watch my poison soul slowly killing me
(My poison soul)

Call me, don't expect to answer
The constant ring the constant needs
Everything you need I give
Never do you see what I feel
Never have you truly seen into my eyes

Rise again burn again
Let me feel something
Stop this pain
I'm numb, I'm cold
I'm my own poison
My poison killing this all

I never said to know
See these scars they hold your name
Don't act stupid
You knew you would be the death of me
My poison soul, my poison ways
My poison life never to see light again

My poison soul
My poison soul
Slowly killing me
Killing me

Hey, firstly I'd like to say that I love the repitition in this. I'm pretty picky with too much repitition, I've tried it in my poems, and even in them I haven't always liked it. But you pulled it off. It was really well done. I think my favourite line was 'wilt away into the night' because it was metaphorical, with more than just one meaning: that's what poetry is made of. Good job!
