Why not any sooner?

Why?
i used to wish i was that man
that will always be there to help you
when ever you fall on your feet
that always hold onto you and never let go
why?
i used to help you with those school projects and school test
why?
couldn't you see how i felt a long time ago
when i was still not held or taken from someone yet
i really wish you could had told me sooner
i really wish you could had heard me read to you those love poems and see those wet tears i leave at home
i wish it was you i held onto when i slow dance at school
i wish it was you that i hug each and everyday when i see you
i wish it was you that told me that i wasn't alone
i wish it was you that sat with me on that lonely dark night
why not any sooner?
