Your Lies

by mmm   Oct 24, 2006

When you walked out the door,
I told myself I wouldn't cry anymore.
What we had, is now long gone,
When and where did we go wrong?

You got in your car and turned the wrong way.
You didn't look back as you drove away.
Only then did I realize all of your lies.
You went to the girl who once made you cry.

How could I miss the signs?
In the beginning I knew you were never mine.
You loved her more than you had ever loved me.
How was I so blind that I couldn't see?

When you got home I pretended that I didn't know.
You missed her, you tried not to let it show.
But it was bright on your face.
Somehow, you forgot to erase your trace.

I know that you want her more than me.
I will go now and leave you be.
Just promise me you will never forget.
That one special day, and how we first met.
