Blade Of Love

by Russ   Oct 24, 2006

Im thinking here, about life,
And how it can balance like the blade of a knife.
Im thinking of how deep that knife can go,
Of which conclusion I could never know.
But as I sit here and think of you,
My life, and that blade become suddenly true.
And if that blade was my love for you,
Id reach for my heart and stab it through.
Id let my blood run free and sound,
And let my body fall hard to the ground.
And that love with you, my ultimate goal,
Would merge with and become my very soul.
And my soul would fly high to paradise,
Love being my eternal sacrifice.
A sacrifice I would willingly make,
If meant being with you, I would gladly take.
And as my corpse grew hard and cold,
My love for you would not grow old.
It would stay strong and powerful, forever and ever,
Throughout eternity, throughout time, beyond never.
So as I sit here and think of life,
My hand reaches for that invisible knife.
And as my heart thinks of you,
I grab that knife and stab it through.
Although sometimes it may turn and twist,
That blade would be forever missed.
If bundled away from these shaking hands,
And taken away to unknown lands.
Because this blade is my love for you,
And forever in my heart is where its due.
