Endurance of our Love

by Electric Monkey   Oct 24, 2006

Through wind and waves and perilous night,
Through dangers risks and hazardous flights,
Though life itself should threaten of death,
Though man may choke and strangle breath,
My love for you will live on still.
No pain, no death, no stay of will
Can keep my love of this dear heart
From loving you though we're apart.

The winds may blow; the waves may fall.
The dangers and risks are empty all.
Life will live, and death will pass.
Without your touch, all substance as grass
Will fade and fall and wither away.
But when you're here, I want you to stay.
The void is gone when you are near;
I am alone if you're not here.

Oh how long must we be two?!
I will one day be on with you.
Oh how great this gulf between!
This wish no more will be a dream.
Oh my love I long to see you!
Your voice each time rings so new.
The world will never give such love
As comes from you the one I love.

The world is vain and void of life;
Tis all within a constant strife.
Life will end when breath has ceased.
But through this age you bring relief
To such a soul as trouble as mine,
And settle the torment in my mind,
Which rages every night and day
Every time that you're away.
