Isn't it the same?

by Butterfly   Oct 25, 2006

No we can't go out flying tonight.
No we can't drive to Mars at mornings light.
We can not count all the stars when darkness comes.
Nor can we travel in the future or past, when the day is done.

These were the promises you forgot you had made.
Each one broken and all for the same
reasons, you told me time and time again
No time could be found, not even for a friend.

Through all these promises you built up my dreams
of things that could never be, but still you promised them to me.
And when your promise was broke, all my hopes crashed
my heart fell apart and I cut my hands
trying to pick up the pieces you had broken
and slowly patch together what was once Trusted.

All these things you promised
They could never have been
Impossible wishes, for men.
But isn't it the same
When promises you that are possible to keep
end up being broken over such small things?
