Mother...

by Sapphire   Oct 25, 2006

(This poem does not rhyme most of the time I just wanted to get some of my thoughts out)

Mom
I'm a baby
I cannot hear nor see
But I feel your warm hand
Close to me

Mom
I'm a toddler
I'm starting to walk
But where do you keep going?
Cause your visits are getting scarce
I keep looking out the window
For you
Waiting and waiting
Until Grandma finally tells me
"She's not coming...."

Mom
I'm a child
I'm in school now
I know nothing of you anymore
Cause we moved
After you abandoned me
But it's all good
Cause I don't remember you

Mom
I'm a pre-teen
I just had my first crush
Amazing isn't it?
But once again
You're not here
Like you ever were

Mom
I'm a teeneager
I'm writing this poem
Haven't I become something?
Dad tells me about you
But it's not enough
I had a mother's touch as a baby
But as I grew
I grew without you
And I had to survive on my own
From then on.....

TELL ME!
How come you left?
How come you weren't there?
How could you hate me so much?
What did I do to you?
I grew from a baby,toddler,child,and a pre-teen
And now I'm just me

You never knew
You never had one clue
But until I tell you all this
Face to face
I'll still call you
My mother....

Awww. This made me sad, it reminds me of one of my friends whose mother did the same thing. This was very emotional and I liked it a lot.
It's going on my favorites, 5/5

I am so glad that you submitted another poem, and I love this one even more than the first. Poems are best served powerful, whether it be happy or sad. Keep it up.

P.S. It doesn't matter if it rhymes!

Wow, lots of feeling. It gave me the chills. For people who aren't in this situation, I guess they sort of understand better of how it effects a person. So I think it is very thought filled, and filled with feeling.
