I open my eyes
from yet another hellish nightmare.
I open my eyes
and the sun shines in bright on my face.
I flinch away, as if struck.
It's such a beautiful day,
but my eyes still see in grey.
My world is still seen through clouded eyes.
No matter how hard I try,
to blink away the never ending tears,
more and more proceed to fall.
I close my eyes,
trying to block everything out.
But when I close my eyes I see your face,
so peaceful,
yet so distraught.
Oh, how I miss that smile,
won't you please come back,
just for awhile?
I miss you so much,
I know we all do,
so I close my eyes once again
and whisper
