Moonlit Dance

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Oct 26, 2006

With eyes like beacons,
Shining in a tower,
She gazes over the room.
Her dress of pale blue
Shimmering in the moonlight,
The moonlight let in by the open windows,
That occasionally let in a soft breeze too.
He enters from the other door,
His suit well-fitting,
And accenting his gorgeous figure.
They meet at the head of the grand staircase,
And a hush fell over the crowd below.
A silver mask slides over her face,
As a black mask covers his masculine features.
Arm-in-arm, they walk down the stairs,
Each step they take is like walking on a cloud.
Slowly, they make their way to the dance floor
And as he takes her into his arms,
The on looking dancers made a circle around them.
And cue the slow, steady music
That ignites a flame in their souls.
He sweeps her off her feet,
And moves her.
Keeping in time with the rhythm of the song,
He swings her around the ballroom.
Her long dress billowing about,
Her hair flying wild, but still looking beautiful.
Other couples start to dance,
Following his lead.
Soon, the whole room is full of dancing people.
The first couple retreats to the patio.
She puts her hands on the railing of the balcony,
And stares at the stars.
He comes up next to her
And lays a hand on her waist.
They praise the stars, and the music,
In his mind, he’s praising her,
In her mind, she’s wishing he would hold her closer.
Then, all of a sudden,
Both their hopes vanished.
All that was left in their minds was an empty hole,
That was quickly filling with fire.
Flames that engulfed their bodies
As they kissed under the full moon.
When, at last, they were capable of thought,
All he could do was praise her,
All she could do was let herself be held.
A night, a dance, a kiss,
The moon shines on above,
As inside, happy couples dance,
Outside, one couple discovers true love.

Nice stanza here Rikki. Overall nice concept, but I must ask if this is your premmonition for the masquerade? Sounds like it. :) Love ya lots,
