My goodbye

by Sorefromreality   Oct 26, 2006

Don't try to talk me out of this
my decision is final
since i have left you
i can finally smile

thank you for your love
but my love for you is gone
this relationship is ending
like the final note in a love song

you abused my love
and wanted my body more
i am worth more than that
so i walked out of the door

your words turned into my tears
your desires formed pressure
I'm sick of fighting this battle
done having to lecture

when you think of me just remember
i could've been the best thing you ever had
i know hearing my words hurt
but this relationship has gone bad

you had your chance and blew it
you no longer run thru my mind
when u asked me what kind of goodbye this was
i told you the "forever" kind

our love screwed up and friendship won't work
there's nothing left to say, no more to do
but remember my final words:

i will ALWAYS love you.

I like the strength you showed in this poem. That you realised what he wanted you for and wouldn't take it. It makes this poem different, and i like it. Yet, at the end you admitted that you will always love him, even though you knew you had to let go. I love this poem. Such truth, and a great use of words, with a good flow too. Keep it up hun. =] 5/5
