Just listen

Just listen

Sit, and listen to the heartbeat of the world
Suffer her anger as she can see
Her destruction in our own hands
As she remembers days when she was free

Touch her tears as they kiss your cheek
In the form of hail and rain
Hear her sob and weep and quake
Feel our mother earths’ pain

Watch the sky turn blue to grey
See the sun cower behind
Her furious thunder that lights the sky
No more blue sky, caring, kind

See her heart boil and burst with ache
Volcanoes shoot her grief away
Tell her, wounds can mend regardless
She knows this hurt will heal, not stay

Now feel the sky warm and light again
Feel the sun warm your cheek
Now you are mother earths’ friend
Though the future may look bleak

Face the now fresh joyfulness
See the sun smile upon
All the world and her people
All the hurt gone
