My Dear Friend

As the sun sets on another day,
I lay on my bed.
Staring at my phone,
and listening to music.
When all seemed hopeless,
you came to me like an angel.
Every time I'm down,
you've always made me smile.
Our friendship is becoming closer,
even though people think other things.
I love you as a friend,
I'm thankful to have one as good as you.
As I lay on my bed,
and stare at the ground.
I drift away,
to a dreamland.
Full of memories,
and laughter.
As my world seemed to come crashing down,
you came to me like a helping hand.
I watch the precious second time away,
all the tears I've had to wash away.
As you, my friend have always been there,
I thank you.
But this time,
it's just too late.
My time has run out,
that hourglass has dropped the last piece of sand.
As it's time for my life to end,
I hope I've hoped you.
You're an angel to me,
I hope you know that.
I'll love you as much in death,
as I did in life.
