As the rain falls
I listen to the drops hit the roof
A new excitement grows deep inside me
I listen to the thunder around me
And I feel energized
I see the lightning light up the world
And a new emotion escapes me
I look up at the sky with envy
Would it not be so exciting
To do as you please?
To create destruction
And happiness in your path
Can anyone feel so free?
Can anyone be so open to themselves?
Emotions rise up from inside me
Desperately trying to escape
I hold in the hunger of freedom
Though it's gaining a hold on me
Would it be so bad to surrender to one's self?
To give up all sense of self control and moral?
Though my mind and body tell me yes...
My heart and soul tell me no
So I stand on the brink
Of confinement and freedom
Ready to fall back or step forward
