Walks Upon the Beach

by *Charisma*   Oct 28, 2006

I know it wasn't easy for you
When dad and you fell apart
I'm glad you loved me so
And kept me from pain's start

I don't remember anger,
Frustration, or hate towards truth
It was easy to bear it
Because for me there was you

Remember walks on the beach
Popcorn, apple and water
Moments like that I treasure
Proud I am your daugther

Seashells we still have
From trips just you and I
Pictures we have to prove it
Toward any who deny

I wonder if I helped you
To keep on going ever strong
Knowing there's a little girl
Still looking up to her mom

I'm happy you found a man
Who made you smile once again
He made me his daughter
With love no one can explain

But I will never forget
Those long walks upon the beach
Days that drew us closer
When it was you and me

This is a great poem. I showed it to my mother today because it hit me close to home...I never really was able to get close to her when she was leaving her husband because she wanted to keep my brother liking her...so i was put aside..or on the back burner. It really helps that other ppl know what I went through and Once again...another great poem.
