Steps to a ladder

I help my friends up like steps to a ladder
when they get above me
i'll walk up myself to where they are
so i can push them higher.

keep them out of the fire below
because if they fall
they'll lose sight of everything they know.

i wont leave them behind
i rather die then leave there sides
if one gets hurt on the way up ill carry them
or walk them up step by step

when they get tired well take a rest
and wont force them up
but ill urge them on
if they want to we can go on and on.

until we reach the top
then well stop
for they'll be saved
then i can be happy
and proud because they were brave,
enough to climb up.

but if i find another who's fallen
i must go down again
to help them up
on the way ill gain there trust
needed to lift them up.
